AMAGo PRIVACY POLICY
AMAGo is operated by AMAZING AGENTS (PTY) LTD, registration 2026/305414/07, incorporated 14 April 2026. Privacy and support contact: amazing.agents@cidt-group.com. We handle personal information for the actual Passenger, Courier, Trip Provider and supporting account, payment, safety and support functions described here, in accordance with applicable South African privacy law, including POPIA.
Information and purposes
We process account names, email and mobile contact details, authentication identifiers, device-session records and selected role to create and secure accounts. We process pickup, destination and stops, route, selected optional preferences, schedule, agreed fare, parcel and recipient details to quote, match and perform journeys. Provider documents, reviewed vehicle/capacity information and entitlement records support provider vetting and lawful service eligibility. Payment references, integer monetary amounts, ledger, receipts and refund records support reconciliation. Support messages, ratings, safety and road reports support communication and review. Notification device tokens enable account-scoped operational messages. Necessary server/security logs support service reliability and abuse investigation.
Location and contacts
Location supports pickup, routing and active-trip tracking. Providers share location while online or performing assigned journeys through an Android foreground location service, including while the screen is not visible. Its notification and stop action remain available. Going offline ends availability sharing; location permission can be withdrawn in Android settings, which may prevent matching/tracking. We do not use precise location for unrelated advertising. Selected contacts are supplied through the Android contact picker or manually; the entire address book is not copied. Sharing is initiated by the user through a time-limited revocable link. Do not share links with untrusted recipients. Connectivity and GPS can affect accuracy.
Biometrics and security
Optional biometric app unlock uses Android's protected mechanism; AMAGo does not receive raw fingerprint or face templates. It does not override server session revocation. Pending email verification is device/session-bound and codes expire. Never disclose a code or password to another person. We use access controls, HTTPS, protected server credentials, owner MFA and audit records; no system guarantees absolute security. Report suspected compromise to the support address.
Service providers and disclosure
Firebase/Google services provide authentication, database and messaging; Google Maps services provide maps, address and route processing when activated; Afrihost hosts the backend and private portal. The merchant selected for the actual checkout, Paystack or PayFast, processes card/payment details on its own secured service; AMAGo does not store full card numbers. Relevant trip/contact data is shared with the assigned parties and authorised administrators only as needed. Subprocessors may process information outside South Africa; the configured Firestore database is in Google's europe-west2 region. The operator reviews applicable transfer safeguards and vendor terms. We may disclose necessary records to lawful authorities, insurers or professional advisers where legally justified. We do not sell personal information to advertisers.
Lawful use, retention and rights
Processing is limited to appropriate contractual, consent, legal or other lawful grounds. Optional preferences and sharing are voluntary; essential service/security processing may still be required. Accounts are intended for adults aged 18 or older. Do not create an independent child account. Information about a minor involved in an adult-arranged journey must be limited to what is lawfully necessary.
Request access, correction, objection, consent withdrawal or deletion through support. Identity checks protect against disclosure or deletion by another person. Account deletion is available in-app and at /account-deletion. Active trips, money and lawful disputes may require resolution. Necessary retained records follow /retention-policy and the deletion policy, with restricted purposes. These rights remain subject to applicable law; complaints may also be directed to the South African Information Regulator. Operational messages concern the actual service; optional marketing requires appropriate consent. Material policy changes are versioned and communicated where required.
